Self-protection is needed now more probably than ever before.
You would
think that our growing spirituality as a species would have
erased the need for books/tapes/instructors and web
sites on the art of self-protection. Unfortunately it
hasn't. Well, not yet anyway.
In fact, I would say that it has gotten worse.
With this in mind, I would say we all need to understand at
least the basics of self-protection. An unpredictable society such as ours demands no less. That is why Matthew's site and his
no-nonsense method of teaching are both very welcome.
There are many sites floating around the Internet
that claim to teach self-protection, some are good, some not, but very few
have the pedigree of Matthew Evans. Not only does he have an extremely
impressive and practical lineage, he is also spiritually aware.
A big part of self-protection, after all, is that we learn to protect
ourselves from ourselves as well as others. As the chief instructor for my
Real Combat System,
I can think of no better man on the circuit today to
teach the physical, mental and spiritual aspect of self-protection than
Matthew.
